The APM Stat: EAM/CMMS Data Optimized Through Proper Failure Coding
Based on the January 2010 APM Advisor survey which asked readers "Without proper failure coding, optimization of EAM/CMMS data for asset performance management is difficult.  Do you agree or disagree?"

  • 93.68 % agreed that without proper failure coding optimization of EAM/CMMS data for asset performance management is difficult.
  • 6.32 % disagreed that without proper failure coding optimization of EAM/CMMS data for asset performance management is difficult.

EAM/CMMS systems represent a significant hardware and resource expense.  An investment in proper failure coding offers the dual benefits of leveraging EAM/CMMS investments, as well as offering significant operational benefits through improved management of equipment assets.
